I really did finish decorating, but if you’ve been following along, you’ll remember that I was working on these little embroidered ornaments. (And if you weren’t following along or just didn’t remember, it’s okay…I almost forgot about them, too.)
Anyway, I FINALLY finished 2 of them today. It actually didn’t take me a terribly long time to do the embroidery or even the sewing. What took me forever was getting motivated to do the blanket stitch around the edges. Sad, I know. And my blanket stitch could really use some work, I think. But, they are done now and they are so cute hanging on my tree! This little bird is still my favorite:
And I really like the fabric for the back of the ornament!
The snowflake is really cute, too! And I hope the holly berry ornament I’m working on now is just as cute as these two.
Now that I’ve finished these, I’m actually already working on another snowflake embroidery project. What can I say? I’m hooked!
I found a snowflake drawing and transferred it to a piece of red quilting cotton along with the words “Let it snow!” I’m embroidering the snowflake now in white using chain stitch and once it’s finished, it’s destined to become a pieced pillow with this fabric:
Of course, it’s taking longer than I thought it would because I’ve been working on sewing for my shop that I’m hoping to get opened later this week. I know it’s too late for Christmas, but you have to start somewhere, right?
